Ok forgive me if I mentioned this to you before, and I just remembered to tell you now!

In Coraline, you wanted to know what the names/words "Spink" and "Beldam" meant. A "Spink" is another name for a Chaffinch, which is a finch known for its singing (which is probably why Mrs Spink was named that.) "Beldam" means "hag" or in usage of an ugly old woman, that sort of thing. Very rarely used in modern English today, it's completely obsolete meanings referred to just meaning "grandma" or "old woman."
